Social Security and TRS Options

Those folks eligible for Social Security and for Texas Teachers Retirement too often make decisions on when to start taking benefits and which option to select before being fully informed.  Sometimes those decisions have unintended consequences that are not the best for their unique situation. Worse, some decisions can be irreversible once made.

Being fully informed on the benefits and limitations of each option is VERY important.  Also, making sure that the option and timing is coordinated with all of your other personal and retirement investment options can make a BIG difference. Talk to an experienced advisor first.
